Good deal. Odd, my wife says the same about me.

Congratulations on the bullets. What 338 cal did you get, 210 PT?

I got 300 of the 210 PTs I hope they last me a few years. I have a load that is shooting 1.25" groups. If I get bored next summer, I might mess with it a little bit.

The 210 gr seconds that I bought arrived and have a .005 inch deep crimp groove machined in the thick part of the tapered jacket, starting at and below the ogive tangent point, above the Partition. Are yours the same?

Just curious because my standard Partition 210 gr firsts and other weights do not have the groove. I weighed several and because of the second operation for the crimp, these seconds are about .5 grain lighter than the standard 210 gr Partitions which is not an issue at 210 grains, just a notation for accuracy sake. Weight distribution, based on small sampling, appears normal for Partitions.

If there is any notable effect at the rifle range, I will note it but I do not expect much difference. Glad to pay half price for them instead of $42/50 bullets. I got 100, .257, 100 gr Ballistic Tip seconds as well, for range ammo .

Mine have the crimp grove also. I do have some firsts that have the crimp groove and some that don't have it. They shoot the exact same. I am looking forward to loading some up tomorrow.

The band is cut into the jacket for crimping. In my 338 RUM, the unbanded 210 gr PT's shot better but not by much.

 I've been accused of dorkiness myself. I can tell you it does not help to remind her that you had to be a dork when she chose you to be the love of her life. Or that it must be one of the redeeming virtues that she found attractive in the first place. There is whole laundry list of other personal attributes which have much more negative connotations - any of which she should be happy you do not display as frequently as dorkiness. I suggest you just take it as a term o endearment and drop it right there!

I have been called worse and by some women as well! Heh, I have been married for 50 years in January and can roll with it.

Same here!

Congrats on the bullets WT.. It is a dark path from here on out!

Well, after 53 years, I too am still a "dork". When that term is applied to my various endavors and enjoyment, I just use the following statement, "Don't start with me", which usually brings a smile and a hug. Works every time..., well almost every time. Enjoy it, she could have clobbered you with a frying pan......

And then you just reach an age where you've lived together long enough, it is just a shrug and a roll of the eyes.

I think the wife is just happy I'm house broke, well for the most part anyway.
