As time on the chrono I am borrowing is becoming limited, I thought I should get everything done before I need to return it.

I took my 303 British and 300 WinMag out about a month ago and then took the new 308 out for a spin today. I also took Nosler06's 30-06 which I'm sure he'll post about later with some interesting results.

303 - 180 grain Winchester Super X (grey box).

Overall pretty happy with the velocities. Interestingly enough I used a factory Winchester 180 grain SupX for my 300WM as a fouler. It chrony'd 2917 fps.

Now to plug these into JBM for some range cards. 8)

Certainly acceptable velocities. It is comforting to note that the SD doesn't appear extreme on even the factory ammunition. Good data.

Yes there is nothing wrong with the speed of any of those bullets.
If you don't mind me asking how were the groups or were you just checking the fps.?

Blessings,
Dan

I was just checking the fps and ensuring the scope was dialed in not too concerned about groups today. PLUS, the snow coniditons at the range that I posted last week on "Range day with the new rifle" thread have drastically changed. There is half the snow there was last week and it is so much softer. Trekking out to 200 yards and back wasn't much of a treat. I had my snowshoes in the truck, but the conditions at the entrance to the range looked a little different than what the actual conditions were. I am never one to do this, and hate it when people do it, but I did leave my target out because I wasn't trekking another 400 yards to retrieve it in those conditions.

The 300 WinMag gets sub MOA groups. Sorry no pics or actual measurements,...yet. However the last time I was out maybe it's cause I was rushing things, she wasn't doing all that great. I will retest and post up some pics.

Certainly nothing wrong with those speeds, sounds like you are on the right track.

Sounds like everything was shooting real well. Your getting excellent speed from the 168's in the 308!

Sounds like everything is clocking real well.
