My savage seems to love the 55gr NBT.

I have groups like this with IMR 4064, Big Game, RL-15, and now H380. All should be shooting over 3850 for sure. I know the RL-15 is 3910 and the 4064 is over 4000. I have two lbs of H380 sitting around so I should be good for a while. I'll get some pics of the other targers and get them on here as well.

It is a Savage Model 12 low profile. It has a 1:9.25" twist. That was my 14th yote with that gun since I got that gun in November.

Thanks jmad_81 that's the same twist as or close to the 1:9.125 in my sons Rem. VTR. Was thinking the twist was a little fast for the55gr. and would have to use the 70gr. bt but I think we'll give the 55's a try. have you tried any of the Hornady V-max.

Have not tried the V-Max yet. Don't think I will with the way it is shooting these. Next up on the to load list is some 95 gr BT and 95 gr VLD.

I"ve shot the 55g nbt, 55g sierra blitz king, and 58g vmax from my stevens 243 which should have the same twist as jmads rifle. I get .5"-.75" with all 3 bullets and few different powders. The 55's are giving us pretty good results on dogs. Think between the two of us with our 243's, since november is pushing 30 coyotes.
