Glad to hear you worked out the primer issue. I suspect we've all done it at some point or another, when learning handloading. I know what those look like, because I've "done that before."
Regarding the throat length, I'd not worry much about it. The most accurate rifles I've ever shot have been Weatherby Mark V's in Weatherby magnum chamberings, and I've got a 270Wby that is a seriously half-minute rifle on demand out to 200-300yds. And it's got a ton of freebore. Accuracy is all about consistent loads with the right combination of components.
