I have torn my rotator cuff and can't even shoot my 25/06 without extreme pain. I have a fast twist (8) 22-250 that I can handle.

I am going to try and work a load up quickly and use this gun for deer season. The two bullets that I have to try are barnes 62gr ttsx and 70gr tsx.

If someone could run QL for me with those two bullets it would be very helpful in getting a starting point. Hard to find load data for a quick twisted 22-250

Why not go with Nosler's ? Their data clearly states the 60gr PT is out of a 8" twist barrel. There must be a reason they chose that bullet for that twist rate, and then take the money/time/effort to publish it.

got some 60gr partitions on the loading bench ready to load.......could find data for those. I was hoping to get info on the Barnes to have more than 1 bullet to try

Ok, I'll pull a Sheldon Cooper moment here. I think your looking at a waste of copper, powder & primers by trying to run with the Barnes bullet weights that you requested, given the twist of the barrel.

Why?

Mono's run long for weight and the length of the round in relation to the diameter of the bore determines the twist necessary to stabilize the projectile, not it's particular weight.

I think either the 50 or 55 gr TTSX would stabilize with less effort on your part and still retain sufficient weight considering the limited range you'll have to shoot. Just stay away from bone, or a severe angled shot.

they both stabilized in a 8 twist 223 that I had, don’t think it will be an issue in the 22-250. I already have the bullets, so would like to “waste” them as I no longer have the 223.

I will be happy to post up the results

RL17 really kicks the 75 and 77 grain Bullets in my 8 twist 22-250. After that, RL15 is king. Good luck, doubt you’ll have much trouble getting a wicked load.
