I am in the process of paying for a new BLR stainless and dura touch mossy oak brush camo in .358win. I am looking for load data using Hodgdon powder. I really like to use Hodgdon powders because they are what I am most familiar with. In your opinion, what are the best combos you guys have seen? Thanks for any help.

I haven't shot Noslers from mine, but my .358 BLR lies 200gr Hornady PSP or RN and H4895. It shot super with RL7 and the 200gr NBT but velocity was low, 2050 I think at the muzzle, so I went with the Hornadys and H4895, they cruise at 2400, I could push them harder but just don't.

I love my BLR.

I have several loads that have shot well in my BLR.

Speer 250 grain SP, 47 grains H335, CCI250

Sierra 225 grain SPBT, 46 grains Varget, WLR

Sierra 225 grain SPBT, 44 grains Benchmark, WLR

Sierra 225 grain SPBT, 45 grains BL-C(2), CCI200

Nosler 225 grain PT, 47 grains Varget, WLR

Nosler 225 grain AB, 47 grains Varget, WLR

Barnes 200 grain TSX, 51 grains Varget, WLR

Each of these perform well in my BLR. It is a great calibre and the BLR is a fine platform for the cartridge.

Do a search. The topic has been discussed multiple times. If you need something special pm me with the details.

Congrats on a fine rifle!

I know its kind of off topic but I recently picked up one of those SS/Mossy oak brush blrs in .308 and the damn thing seems to be ACCURATE despite having a lousy trigger...does anyone know of a gunsmith that does good work on BLR triggers?

I used IMR4198 yesterday with the HDY 200gr Spire Point. It shot really well. I started at 39 and ended at 41grs. 41gr's would keep pounding them into 3/4 of an inch. It was excellent. Not sure about velocity, but they were shooting plenty good for the mighty 358 BLR. Scotty

I will do that. I just picked up a VXIII 2.5-8X36mm and should be picking up the rifle next week. Have you seen one of these? It is a SHOT show exclusive and is not cataloged with Browning. Kind of cool. I am not typically a lever guy, but the BLR is just a bolt with a lever anyway! The gun comes with a brushed nickle receiver, stainless barrel and Mossy Oak Brush Duratouch stock. It also comes with fiber optic front sight.

Great choice of glass! The VXIII 2.5x8x36mm is the perfect scope.
