Thanks to POP I already have the quick-load info available for the above. What I am looking for now is someone who has worked with this caliber and developed some loading information. I am looking for data using H4831 and RL22. Using 160gr. AB and Partitions. The rifle comes from Weatherby's custom shop with a 26" #2 contour bbl. I have not loaded or fired the first round through it. Hopefully some of you have a 7 Wby and would share some loads and accuracy info. This could include COAL, etc... Thank you in advance for anything you can share.

I would pursue 160 AB at 3100 fps. If I get that shooting sub MOA....I would do cartwheels. Try RL22.

160 gr AB's at 3100 fps will shoot almost as flat as road kill and smack anything they hit pretty hard.
That will be a performer for sure.

So, I have had 7 mm wby mag. All shoot unreal groups *touching* at 100 yds at around 3000-3100 fps. I did use IMR 4831, so you have some more work to do. I use forster dies, runnout is between 5-10 thousandths, fed 215 primers, but the key was to lengthen the cartridge to just under what the magazine would hold.

Great gun, taken elk, hogs, whitetail. My youngest loves it, and that was the 7mm in the elk pic with Lee. The whitetail was my older son's and a different 7mm weatherby mag.

Only caveat, sometimes the barrels take a lot of shots to break them in. I cleaned after every shot for the first 10 shots and every 3rd shot for the next 30. 2 of the rilfes have yet to get 30 shots, but shot touching groups,
Best of luck!

My favorite load for my 7mm Weatherby Mag uses the following:

Remington cases
Fed 215M primer
72 grains IMR 7828
Nosler 160 grain Partition

With this load I get 3150 fps in a 24 inch barrel and groups of around 3/4 inch all the time.

I just load the shells as long as the magazine will allow due to the long freebore of the round.

Living in California, I had to find a "no lead" bullet. I wound up using the same load with the 160 Barnes TSX and it shoots about 3120 fps and the same types of groups.

I think you will enjoy your new gun, the 7mm Wby mag is a much overlooked cartridge.

First, thanks to POP, JD338, Hardpan, R Flowers, & Bullet so far for all the information you learned fellows have given me. At least I know some upper limits now and also some of the powders that work, and possibly how to work up to those "upper limitrs". Hope after "breakin" I will be able to shoot sub-moa with this thing of beauty. I do have a Oehler 33 chrono and know if you just start burning powder things are never the same...I'm still open to any other info some others may care to add and I appreciate your taking the time to do so. This "B" has a shortner installed in the box magazine I think I'll remove and see how far out I can seat these 160grs. I had the same experience with my 300 B before I got rid of it. (Now wish I hadn't) It shot 200 g. Partitions seated just to the base of the neck. Hope this 7mm will do the same.....
