IMR 7977™
IMR 7977
The slowest burn rate Enduron Technology extruded powder is IMR 7977, and is a true magnum cartridge propellant. It yields outstanding performance in such cartridges as the 300 Winchester Magnum, 7mm Remington Magnum, 338 Lapua and a host of others. Loading density is perfect for magnums, nicely filling the case at maximum charges, contributing to superb uniformity and accuracy. The 7mm Remington Magnum “never had it so good”!

I'll have to give one of these a try but I've been pretty happy with IMR 4350 in the for calibers I load with it.

John Barsness has a thread going over on the fire. He's saying the burn rates on these are similar to 4064, 4350, and Retumbo.

Indeed...7977 shows the best velocity of any powder listed for the Ackley with 160 AB's...looking over the load data for the various rounds...it looks to be quite similar to Reloder 22 and MRP, not quite as slow as Retumbo....I say that because it appears to work great with the lighter bullets too...but loses some ground with really heavy ones (at least in the 7mm rounds)...and likely double base.

Its about time the propellants get into the 21st century....

Low 4XXX, mid 4XXX and high 7XXX. Would of guessed at burn rates? Nice something new to try and work with. It has been awhile!

Definitely got my interest.
I've not had much luck with the Hodgdon Extreme Powders. I'll have to see how this stuff works.

Yeah, I run a bunch of Alliant in my stuff, but a little IMR and H powders. I was almost set to try some Ramshot powders, but they are real slim around me now.

Norma powders are actually easier to get ahold of now, for me.

Yeah. Like many of you, I'm having a hard time getting excited about new powders.

Would just like to be able to get 8 lbs of good old H4350 at the local store, at a reasonable price. Like before the madness.

Still, I guess it's a good thing, having some new powders developed.

The new powders do seem intriguing but I'm not sure I will stray to far from what I have that works so well as is.

I'll wait till everyone else has it figured out first, I'm a sort of if it ain't broke don't fix it type of guy. Though I do experiment with different stuff to find what works best.
I didn't see any load data for it on the web site or wasn't there any?
