Kevin filled in the stock and matched the color pretty well where the bolt release was for the Montana action.

Rifle weighs 8 lbs 9 ounces with sling, scope, mounts, and six rounds!

So it's a Pac Nor barrel in a Shilen #3 contour?

Looks like a great rifle! I like the contrast between the matte finish metal and the black stock. That Edge stock should keep it nice and light, hiking up long grades.

Very nice, keep us posted on the range & field results!

Which bullet or bullets do you plan on using?

Yeah that's about right, the stock which I bought second hand was inlet for a Montana 99 action, Shilen #3 barrel with 1.5" shank. So that is what I ordered from Pac-Nor, when it came time to get a barrel. Besides there wasn't a lot of difference between the Shilen #3 and the Pac-Nor barrel in the first place.

As far as bullets it will probably use 200 grain Accubonds, as I picked up 500 from SPS a little over a year ago. I picked up some 185 grain Accubonds as well about the same time, I might find out how fast I can push them out of the 24" barrel. I didn't get near as many of the 185's only 150 to try. Then I have the old standby my other .338-06 likes 200 grain Hornady SP which it pushes at nearly 2900 fps.

Talked with Kevin about your rifle as well when I picked mine up. Can't wait to see pictures of it when yours is done.

Thanks man...Kevin sounds like just the person I was looking for to do this project. Thanks for pointing me in his direction. I can't wait to see it myself :)
