Just recently took delivery of one of my LH Model 70s from Mark Bansner's shop. The barrel is by BRUX, and one piece bottom metal by Sunnyhill. John McLaughlin of Helena did the metal work and Mark Bansner provided the stock and metal finishing. This rifle is a sort of Rubicon for me, as all my other rifles are cold rust blued steel and English or French walnut and fine checkering and finish. This rifle is Ceracoated and fitted in a carbon fiber stock. With a 24" medium sporter contour barrel, Tallry QD mounts, and with 3-15X Tract Toric UHD it weighs in at 8 lbs.
The choice of the Norma Magnum was, perhaps, unusual these days but it is a fine cartridge, will push a 180 grain .308 bullet to around 3000 fps and has a reputation for accuracy. Plus I like older stuff that is just a bit different.
