When will we begin to see some new manuals? I know most that are out now have not been out long but there has been lots of new bullets released lately that need some coverage? I am not just referring to nosler but all manufacturers.

Check the web sites of the various bullet manufacturers and powder manufacturers. They generally stay abreast of changes as newer components come onto the market.

Ah, then you'll just have to spring for a "crackberry" to get your fix!

I would guess that the loading companies will wait a while before coming out with new data. I believe they will wait for more powders with the same properties as RL-17 to hit the market. RL-17 & whatever is loaded in Hornady Superformace are the newest state of the art powders. RL-17 has the burn retardant mixed throughout the powder rather than just coated on the individual kernals. Other powder companies are going to be rushing to come out with their own line of this type of propellant also. I think we are just starting to see the leading edge of increased velocities with no increase in pressures which is a major breakthrough in powders.

Let's see, I believe Nosler's #6 came out in 2008, correct? If so, we should possibly see Nosler #7 in 2011.

Gee

I thought my number 4 was up to date. I guess because I don't own any rifles in calibers newer than 60 something, I am probably OK. I think the .223 is the newest caliber that I load for. My favorite manual is my two Ackley's printed in the late 50's. They had a tendency to hotrod a little more then.

I've got those also. Pretty decent data in them. I used a little of it while messing with my 35 Whelen. Your right though, some stuff is kinda warm! Scotty

I think I've exceeded my GSW ( Gross Shelf Weight ) in manuals.

I do the same thing - grab one and start reading the stories before bed.

If you shoot any at all, QL is worth the price. It costs about what five manuals will cost, and it provides as much, or more than you would get with them. The only caveat is that you need to learn to use it.

I would think Nosler will come out with RG #7 in the next 2-3 years. RG #6 came out last year.

Man, don't say that Mike, 5 reloading manuals = QL, but one edition of QL = a good down payment on another rifle. It is an ugly road for us reloaders/shooters! Scotty

Scotty,

It is an addiction for which there is no cure. What is money for. If you don't spend it here, you'll just buy food and pay for housing and to fly congressmen to beautiful locations to investigate ... whatever.

I went over to my Smith's the other day and he was cleaning house. So among other things I got a new Nosler #4, a Sierra # 3, and a Hornady #4. This only puts me about 20 years behind the times. I can put them next to my Ackley's.
