Well, I managed to snag a few pounds of the Hodgdon Superformance and LeverEvolution powders this evening. I hope to give them a test shortly. I'll first look at the Superformance in the 300 WSM and the LeverEvolution in the 338 Federal and hopefully in my 356. It should be an interesting powder. I'll see what I can report as soon as possible. Have any of you fellows worked with these powders yet?

Will do. If the weather holds, I'll be at the range this coming week.

can i expect the superformance to give good result in the 7mm wsm with 150 gr. bullets?
not much load info yet with this stuff!

It looks like a 100 fps increase in velocity with a 165 PT in the 300 WSM w/o an accompanying increase in pressure. Results with a 115 grain BT in the 25 WSSM show a similar increase in velocity w/o increased pressure. Thus, I would think that it will give increased velocity in the 7mm WSM as well.

Let me know how the Superformance works when you get to testing it out on a few other rounds. I'm interested in it in my .243, .280 AI, and why not my 338?

That is great to hear! Now I am going to have to grab some if I can ever find any around here

Chet,

I haven't considered the 325, but likely I'll get around to that as well.

How does one determine a starting & max load for this stuff if no data has been done yet? For example...how do I get load data for this stuff in my 338-06 and various bullets?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Mike,

Thats great! Looking forward to your test results......

I have not tested the powder by itself but ...

338 Win Mag Hornady Superformance (Not fired yet) I am breaking down 4-6 rounds after taking many pre-measurements. A couple of interesting things so far that might make one ponder.

1. Powder weight varied considerably
2. Low 71.2; High 73.7 (Some manuals say 74 max for some powders - maybe this is why some reloaders are seeing pressure signs?)

One of the interesting things that I thought I saw (giving a benefit of doubt for any who might say I am wrong) was that, yes there appears to be the two types of powders (?) but, no matter how I dumped the powder back and forth between measuring ladle and cup, one type\size powder stayed separate from the other? Maybe my eyesight is getting old but if what I saw is true, then if in the container, is it like this and when throwing charges is it always proportional?

Not sure but will taking out to the range along with other Manufacturer's cartridges next weekend.

I think the Leverevolution would be pretty sweet in my 30-30. 170gr PT's at nearly 2400! That would be a hammer on deer and bears up close. Scotty
