Does anyone have any comments about the "new" Remington X-Mark Pro trigger? I asked someone who's selling a rifle online and he said the old trigger is better than the X-Mark. Was he right or just trying to sell me his older (NIB) rifle?

Thanks,

I have a 700 Sendero and a 700 SPS. The SPS still has the new Remington X-Mark trigger in it and the Sendero had the old Remington trigger. The Sendero now has a great Jewell trigger in it. The only problem with the Jewell trigger was the cost. 200 for the jewell, almost half of what i paid for the SPS. Do i like the X-Mark? Yes. Is it as good as a Jewell? No.

It is a good trigger, safe and easy to adjust.

I like it better than the older Rem trigger. Like POP said safe and easy to adjuts. I have no experience with a Jewell but the x-mark breaks nicely.

FYI, and saw this on another board. Also confirmed this with the company themself, but M.H. Canjar is no longer in business. What ever triggers are out there in the deep dark corners are it.

Powerstroke, thanks for checking but we settled on a Tikka. Couldn't find a 700 locally that had the new trigger to even play with, much less one in 7-08.

I sent my new SPS Varmint with the X-Mark Pro trigger to my buddy's gunsmith to give it a trigger job. He had done an excellent job on my friend's old Remington 700 Varmint Special, as well as an older push feed Model 70. He said the new trigger was a piece of junk, and did the best he could with it, but wasn't happy with how it turned out. Since I paid him $40 for the initial job, he told my friend that for another $100 he would replace the X-Mark Pro trigger and do it right. I am planning to have him do it in January to give him enough time to get it done before next varmint season. I prefer my Rifle Basix trigger in my Stevens 200 to the X-Mark Pro trigger in the SPS.
Your mileage may vary.

I have an XMark trigger that Remington sent me, and I think it is a giant leap from the Walker trigger design that they have been building since '48 or so. The materials, fit and finish are mo' bettah too.

Any mass-produced, mechanical device can have a turkey. 2ndtimer, If you replace your trigger how about sending the carcass to me to look at?

thanks...jim
