new remingtons

That CDL is a fine looking rifle.
The 260 Rem is a pretty efficient round. Powerstrok here has used the 260 Rem on elk with great success. I'm sure he will jump in here and help you out.

I think you need one of each !!!
I've been looking at the VTR in .223 and had my hands on a couple. Nice short barrel and feels fairly decent. Thinking the coyotes wouldn't like a 60gr B-tip out of it. Note the 1 in 9 twist barrel in the .223 VTR.

I also have ( my wife has ) a youth model 7 .260. I can tell you I like it enough I'm having a 700BDL Varmiter turned into a .260 as well. The bullets have a high B/C for such a small round. This is one round I could use all day at a p-dog town without getting beat up, then turn around and take elk hunting the very next day. We've taken three elk with it so far with good success. With the short barrrel on this one, I like the 100gr and 120gr B-tips. With the CDL 24in barrel, I'm sure the 130gr A-bond would be awesome! ( when you can find them ) :(
