Thursday my wife had a dental appointment. On the way home I stopped by couple of gun shops that I hadn't been in for awhile. Had been looking for a new range toy so to speak without breaking the bank and in a caliber that I was already setup to load for. Found something of interest in the second one, a CVA Cascade Heavy Varmint in 223 Rem. Talked to them a bit about it and asked about a trade item I had. Yesterday i suggested to my wife that how about we go to that gun shop, I can pick up that rifle and, on the way home we can stop and eat at a small restaurant we like. She was all for it. Not that Vicky gives me any grief about buying more firearms, not lately anyway, but it played on her good side so to speak. As the old saying goes " Happy wife happy life". Love it when a plan comes together.

That’s awesome.
I made the mistake of having my girlfriend now wife do some shooting. Now 13 years later she has an impressive collection of firearms. To make it even worse, one of her favorite stores is Weatherby in Sheridan WY. We have been there a few times. When we walk in Coery says “Hello Sue”!
I guess I didn’t think this one through …..🤣

I generally squirrel away undocumented cash to buy guns and then store them at my office until I have the opportunity to smuggle them home and into the safe. Then it’s just a matter of not having too many out at one time. Every now and again I’ll come out and say that I’m buying a gun when I can come up with sound reasoning.

My wife doesn't shoot so I can't "buy her rifles". But, if she knows I have a project going, she will sneak down to the gunsmith's and put some money down on the project. She says to me, "I don't know what else to get you". I have a GREAT wife!

If you haven't read the story "Gunrunning" by Patrick McManus, you should. It's in his "Grasshopper Trap" book. 🙂

Susan hasn't had any issues with my buying/selling firearms/etc over the years, as the bills are always paid, and there is food in the fridge/freezer/pantry. And she is glad that I am not out spending money on cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, etc. And she gets to shoot and hunt too!

All goes back to when we first got together, and she asked why I needed so many rifles, and I looked out the window at the coral and asked her why she she needed so many horses!

You must have heard this phrase from her many times " If you buy one, I'll buy one too " ;)
