When I saw the price, I knew it was a deal I would never see again. So, I bought one and stored in away in the barn until now.
I had previously bought and assembled a very nice 10' high, 6'x6' steel tower which I was very happy with. It was made by a different manufacturer and was very rugged. I had my concerns about this one. The photos made it appear to be built lighter than the prior one I had bought years ago.
The directions called for building the 12' high tower with a 5'x5' platform, horizontally. That made some sense when I thought about it. The neighbor boys, ages 12 and 13-1/2, helped me assemble it one afternoon. Laying on its side, it didn't seem all that impressive. However, when we tipped it up (With two men and two teenage boys, it was a lot easier than we expected.) We were all surprised at how tall it seemed. It was also sturdier than I expected. It is definitely tall enough for those areas where we thought we might use it.
Yesterday, I practiced installing the blind while upright. It proved to be a "piece of cake".
Once we make a final decision on location, we will tip it back down on a trailer. Trailer it to where we want it and then tip it back up. The fabric blind will only be on the tower during deer season.
All-in-all, I am pleasantly surprised by the size and ruggedness of the tower. It was a good purchase.
