Wii someone please tell me the difference between the two bullets. I use the nosler 150 green ballistic tip for white tails and it kills them deader then they need to be.
But I know nothing of the gray tip ballistic tip.......and isnt the body of that a blackish color........???
Thanks for any input in advance..........

The green tip is the color of the 30 cal BT's made by Nosler. The grey color tips are the Winchester CT version with the black Lubalox coating, also made by Nosler.
Same bullet.

I want to thank you for your response. Now you are telling me that the green tip and silver tip ballistic bullet sold by nosler is the identical bullet? The bullet just looks different as far as color ...........but they both will kill a whitetail deader then they need to be bacause the bullets are identical? They have the same explosive , terminal result on whitetails?
Sometimes I am thick headed on things and this is one time.

yooperchuck,

Same bullet. Nosler private labels for Winchester under the Combined Technology CT brand name. Its the same bullet but with a gray polycarbinate tip instead of green.
Winchester adds the Lubalox coating (black) and loads them in their ammunition.

Either one of these bullets will kill those Chippewa County bucks like lighting.

Nolser Ballistic Tip - green tip, and as mentioned the Winchester/Nosler CT with the grey tip is called the Ballistic Silvertip.

Almost the same bullet, also has the Lubalox coating. I had great success with the Failsafe bullets and the factory Accubonds with the Lubalox coating and the PG's with the grey moly in my 300WM so for my, so for my 243 I bought I'm reloading the BST in 55 and 95 grains for varmint / predator hunting.

You are right about nosler seconds. I got a bunch of the green tip and loaded them for last deer season. They work like a charm of course. I just hope they will have the 155 gr. competition/match bullets again. I loaded some of those and was hitting milk jugs at 400 yards with a remington 700 bdl .308 varmit special.

Mighty Peace, would you mind sharing your recipe for the CT Silvertip in .300WM ? I just ordered some and Nosler doesn't post the ballistic data for that load..

Thanks!
