Last evening I started to prep some new Nosler 30-06 cases for the first loading. There was an open box and a recently purchased box available. Upon weighing 10 cases from the new box I noticed a heavier weight, 192.9 grains, than I remembered from the last loading from the open box, 180.2 grains. This is an average of 10 cases each, weighed on the calibrated scale from my Chargemaster.
Exterior dimensions were very close, so my suspicion is that the 12.7 grain difference in weight translates to a significant difference in internal capacity. If intermixed it must be a factor in load performance. Just pointing out what I suspect to be an area to keep an eye on when trying to maximize load performance. Being unaware of the different case capacity if loading near max for best velocity may affect one's safety.
