This is a photo of a .338 180 gr. AccuBond ST that I used to drop a whitetail buck yesterday. Bullet was fired from a M70 .338 Win Mag that I've reworked and bullet was doing around 3150 fps. Shot was into the right front shoulder knuckle as the buck was quartering facing me from 218 yards. Bullet traveled diagonally through the buck which was around 175# weight and lodged under the skin of the left rear flank. Recovered bullet weighs in now at 137.7 grs. and as far as I'm concerned gave great performance. Nose rolled back as it should and bullet retained the majority of it's weight without fragmentation. Overall expansion of rollback is 0.570". Buck went 50 yards and hit on his nose!

Congratulations on your buck.
The recovered AB looks pretty impressive. Thanks for sharing the pics.
How much penetration did you end up with, 30-36"?

This was a 'cull buck' we've been watching for some two years now; narrow rack of about 12" with no browtines and 3 pts. on main beam! At 3 1/2 years.....he'd never have amounted to much over what he was at his demise! But...we've got fresh backstrap and shoulder/rump roast that will go well at the table with some used for chili also!

Yep...the bullet worked great! A dang sight better than a Nosler/Winchester CT BT that I had a bad experience with back in November on a buck I shot up in Missouri! Accurbonds are the way to go!

Bullet penetrated from the knuckle of the right shoulder all the way back to the left rear flank! Bullet fired from a .338 Win Mag in a M70 I rebarreled and blueprinted!
