i just loaded some up for my 30-06, i bought 150 & 180 grainers. i have tried every bullet through this rifle and i get the best results with 150 nosler ballistic tip or ct bal. silver tip, with repeated half inch groups at 100 & 1 inch groups at 300 yards for over 10 years now. i live in screwed up california where lead kills. ha ha! i need to get the e tip to group. but with my ballistic tip i load it pretty deep to achieve the best accuracy, but when i loaded the e tips to the accurate length for my rifle i could feel the powder compress with the 180 grainers. i could not find published data for the e tip so i used the book data in noslers reloading guide number 6 for the other 180 grain bullet data. i started with 51.0 grains of imr 4350 and my coal is 3.191. anyone know what the suggested twist rates are for the 150 or 180 grainers? anyone with info would be great. the e tips carry a thick diameter out to the nose of the bullet. will this require a different twist rate for the barrel? sorry this post is so long, thanks for your time and effort with this issue!
