That's a nice moose. Congratulations.
The expansion is excellent for that long a range, even with the high muzzle velocity. Thank you for the pictures.

Awesome moose, thanks for posting the pictures. Seems that moose had a will to live with that much firepower being put into him. Scotty

Those look exactly like the ones I took out of a large wild hog shot at 85+- yards with my .300 Win Mag. Very nice....Congrats on the moose!

Akhutr,

That is a great moose, and I like the looks of the rifle too! It seems to be a good performer, not just another pretty face. The E-Tips certainly performed well.

What shooting sticks are those? I like how they look, also. Please tell me about them and where you got them?

Good hunting,

Texas

Thanks All.

My partner was behind me watching and he said he thought the first shot was the heart shot, pass through. The bull took off and I continued to shoot. Three more hits, one neck in front of shoulder, pass through, shoulder blade, found under off hide, quartering found in hind quarter, then he turned even more towards me. Final shot into chest slightly angled, inside shoulder, neck, found under hide opposite side. Dropped instantly then. I always continue to shoot until I know they're down for good regardless of where I think they're hit.
The rifle is a Rem 700 AWR, 300 RUM, I bedded it, free floated the barrel, installed a high speed firing pin, Jewel trigger, topped with a 2.5-10 Leupold LPS.
Shoots E Tips into .5 to .6 MOA with Retumbo and Fed 215M.
Shooting sticks are Mossback Shooting Tripod.

Thanks for the post Akhutr. I'm heading up to Maine and New Hampshire in few weeks after moose and am going to use my 300 Weatherby loaded with the 180gr. Nosler E-Tip. I have no doubts now about the cartridge/bullet combo I have chosen.
