Has anyone use both the new Barnes loaded ammo and the Nosler Custom ammo?? I would be using it for a 270, Probably 130 grain TTSX in Barnes and 130 grain AccuBond in Nosler. I have experience with the AccuBond in 30-06, .260 and 300 win and the TSX as well in .260 and all were positive.

If you have experience with both please give me your opinion on the quality of the ammo since I already have a good idea about the bullets themselves. Just looking for a good factory ammo that shoots well in my rifle in case I get in a pinch.

I might prefer nosler all things being equal just to be able have the extra 20 or 40 pieces of brass to reload. I love that nosler brass.

I would imagine either of these to be good ammunition, giving good standard deviations and velocities. Whether your rifle prefers one over the other must be tested at the range, however.

+1

if you don't have a preference as to which bullet type, the only thing that matters is what shoots the best in your rifle.

I am sure both are good. I do know that there was a lot of R&D done for the Nosler ammo.

Anybody know who makes Barnes' brass? Word has it that Norma makes Nosler's.

My understanding is that the Barnes ammunition is being produced by Remington. Same company owns both...That being said I would assume it's Remington brass.

I can not speak of Barnes but Nosler uses a couple of sources for their brass.

Thanks, guys. I had a long winded post about not understanding why Nosler would put all it's eggs in one basket, manufacturing-wise, but when I re-read it, I confused myself as to what I was asking, so I round filed it. JD answered what I was trying to ask, but didn't.
