Nosler Partition for Buffalo

Paul,
Was your No.1 in 404 Jeffrey in the Tropical version?
A friend has all but that one. Then there were reports that Ruger didn't actually build the Tropical in the 404 although they advertised for it. And since then I have heard reports to the contrary...
While he has since suffered injuries from a MVA he cannot handle rifles with anything more than mild recoil, so he may never complete his collection...it would be nice to confirm if these rifles actually exist.

(Apologies to nodogs for hijacking thread a little in respect to learning some historical facts)

Lots of interesting discussions since I made this post. I’d really like to use partitions but as some have alluded to, they’re hard to get. Much less enough to develop loads before the fall of 26. I may be forced to try something else which isn’t the worst thing in the world. I’m not interested in using factory ammo after the first trip. Even though they worked and nothing got away, the performance was less than stellar. Regardless, I’ll get some premium bullets and start working. Soft points and solids. Thanks all!

Best of luck on your quest!
As already mentioned, a bullet with excellent on-game performance in Africa is the Swift A-Frame.
With the scarcity of Partitions, this would be my choice.
They may be more expensive, but would still be the cheapest expense on your safari!
