Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been reloading for about years, and am by no means an expert. I have a RPR chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I have been wanting to get my MV up to 2800-2850 fps using the 140 grain Nosler RDF's, and IMR 4350. I need some help. Is the answer 1) Go down to 130 Grain bullets or 2) Switch Powders or 3) More powder?
Here is my data so far
ALL Loads....COL 2.865, IMR 4350, CCI BR-2 Large Rifle Primer

40 Grains 2532 2536 2506 fps, SD 16
41 Grains 2593 2598 2605 fps, SD 6
42 Grains 2666 2675 2668 fps, SD 4
42.2 Grains 2659 2659 2669 fps, SD 10
42.4 Grains 2695 2685 2695 fps, SD 10
42.6 Grains 2707 2696 2717 fps, SD 16

Absolutely Zero signs of Overpressure, No Primer issues, or sticky bolt lift

Plenty of case capacity left, bullet .050 off of the rifling, 2.865 COL, CCI BR-2 Large Rifle Primer, I am using a Magnetospeed Chronograph. I have a maximum magazine length of 2.984 with aftermarket magazines so I can go longer if need to. Feel free to comment, pull me in the loop, whatever, I am open to any suggestions.

I am getting 2900 fps with 140 berger, 43.5 IMR4350, Fed 210 match, Lapua
brass at 2.932 OAL., using oehler 35P chono, 25" Lilja barrel in a custom built
rifle with a borden action.

I realize comparing a 260 with a 6.5 creed is like comparing honeycrisp apples
to gala apples but there are some similarities. Nosler shows 260 with a max 43
gr of H414 powder & Rem 9 1/2 prime @ 2815 out of a 24" wiseman barrel. It
shows a 6.5 creed with a max of 40.5 gr of W760 (essentially the same as H414
powder) & Fed 210 primer @ 2672 out of a 24" pac nor barrel.

I don't know what length barrel you are using. This could make a difference. If I
felt a need for and wanted to milk every fps velocity I could get out of it I would
be inclined to gradually up my powder a 1/2 grain at the time watching for pressure
signs as I went to see what effect this would have. You could also try different
primers. The above data leads me to believe you could likely up the powder a bit and
probably up your fps velocity a bit. What effect will this have on accuracy?
If I have to choose between max velocity or accuracy I would rather have accuracy.

I only get 2750 from the 28" barrel on my Creedmoor and 140s. The 130 AB runs right at 2900 from my 24" Creedmoor. Trajectory is pretty similar.

RL17 is 70-100fps faster than 4350 and great accuracy. I get 2950 with 130s and 2800+ with 140s.

Try H4350 or IMR 4451. I shoot 42gr of IMR 4451 behind a 140 Berger in my 260 and get 2817fps.

As Scott said RL17 has good velocity.....never tried it myself though.
