Just looking for input on Nosler's SHOTS. Anyone use em? Just looking for a cheap plinking and varmint round for 243 and came across em.

No real use here Robert, but for that purpose I can't see them being bad.

I can tell you they DO NOT hold together in a 1:9.25 twist over 3700 fps. I bought a 500 of them, shot three, three shot groups and only four hit the paper. Three at 3700 one at 3750, and none at 3800. I bought them for shooting yotes. But was not happy with 3700 fps out of a gun that should be doing 4000.

If you want mine I'll make you a heck of a deal on them.

That was pretty much my intent... paper punching and varmints... with some velocity. They are the 55 grainers so I expect some speed out of em. My barrel is a 1 in 10 I believe (RoyToy Vanguard). Sounds like I may encounter some of the same issues you experienced. Appreciate the offer, but I think I'll pass.

I was able to push them to 4000 fps and they hit the targets all right...group size was sometimes good and sometimes not. I can't blame the bullet though, that rifle just didn't like anything I fed it. That's why I no longer own it.

Now why did you have to go and post that? LOL! Now I'm second guessing myself! I've got enough of a supply of 6mm pills to keep me occupied for quite some time as it sets, I just liked the price I saw on SPS of $40 per 500. Maybe they wouldn't be bad just to have in case my supply dries up and I'm hurting for some range time. :?

OK jmad_81... what kind of deal are you talkin????

The guys I talked to at Nosler said that they should be fine in a 1:10 twist at the higher speeds.

If I remember right I shot 9 or 10 of the 500 I had. Does $35 shipped seem reasonable? Saves ya $5 on the bullets plus $12 on the shipping.

Anyone got any suggestions on loading using Varget or H-335 for them around 3000-3500. All load data I can find has min loads going 3600+ and have had them come apart or shoot minute of Elephant at 3800ish out of a 1-10 Barrel. So i figure Im gonna try slowing them down alot and see how they do

Now why did you have to go and post that?

I'm not stingy with my rare successes...or my frustrations!
