Now that Varget is $60....

TAC is working well with the 150 gr TTSX. I'm using the minimum load on the Barnes data, 43.4 gr, at the recommenced OAL, 2.735". It's a long jump to the lands, but it's accurate, and did well on a small feral hog at 110-120 yards. Chrony said 2850 fps. Thanks for the suggestion on using TAC.

308 powders for me are TAC, H4895, and CFE223, not in that order. 4895 is super consistent, honest 1 hole groups, not top velocities. TAC is fast and consistent. My 308 likes CFE223 pretty well but showed no promise at all until top loads. CFE223 works great with 150 grain E-Tips for me. It may just be my rifle but it gives 1/2” 3 shot groups at 100 yards, and 2940 fps from a 22” barrel at below max charge weight. Y’all leave my CFE223 alone! I can’t find H4895 anymore as it is. For that matter leave TAC alone too!
You know what………….just stop shooting 308 Win’s. Who would want a washed up old round like that anyway?!

In the Sako Forester I bought while back both Varget and IMR4895 have given half inch groups with different bullets. 150gr PT likes Varget pretty well. Have more of the Varget. Going to try some with the 125gr AB just to see how that groups. I could be happy with the loads tested so far but being the reloader like we are think I will try some Tac and or CFE223 at some point with the 150gr Pts. Dan.
