This will be the first time for me loading a 300 RUM. so what is your recipe for 180 AB's and Partitions? I have Retumbo, H 4831sc reloader 22 and 19. :?:

You might also want to add H1000 to the mix.

Congrats on the new addition - You'll have to bring her back to the Mother State one of these years for a big ole Bull elk.....

I use Retumbo with the 180's & RL-25 with the 200's
I can not use a book max charge of the Retumbo load w/ the 180's though - can't hardly get the bolt open and that is the only load that does it.
I think the 200grainer is the choice across the board for this round - however mine favors the 180's.

The guys I know recommend H-1000 or Retumbo with a 200 grain bullet.
Hits hard way out there.

I am getting great groups from my sps with 99 grs of retumbo and 180 gr bt

I tried to creep it up past there but accuracy went to hell and I think 99 is all the barrel will burn as I got no increase in velocity which I got ave 3350 about 10-15 feet out!

I've only used Retumbo with 180, 200 and 210s. The heavier wts shot best with this powder in my Sendero. I have such good results with the 200 and 210 that I haven't tried any thing else.

Thanks guys!
Powerstroke, its a dirty job, but somebodies got to do it. Might as well be me!

My recommendation is a 180 or heavier bullet in the AB, PT, or ET variety. Do to the velocities this gun will genereate, I'd stay away from the BT. I also will add my thumbs up for Retumbo.

that is one nice thing about the 308 180s is you can use the bt for development and swap in the AB
