old ammo

" Xpediters"- never heard of those. Ive got a box of that super X myself. And an old Outers "hard Maple" cleaning rod myself. Fun stuff to see thanks for posting. CL

the old cleaning rod was in the bottom of my Grandfathers gun cabinet when I was given it . it is really bowed bad . the cloth wrap on it is at a threaded coupler . I'm not sure if the coupler is bad , or if it was to protect the barrel from being scuffed because of how bowed the rod is . I won't be shoving it down a shotgun barrel any time soon .

the Richardson's sticker on the ammo box was a sporting good store , that had about everything . it was so packed you had to turn sideways to get through some of the aisles . when I was a kid , I'd walk to town picking up pop bottles . the first store I came to entering town was a little mom and pops store with a gas pump . I'd cash in my bottles there . if I didn't get many bottles , I'd buy a tube of BB's from that store .the BB's came in a cardboard tube resembling a shotgun shell .both ends of the tube were crimped closed , like a shotgun shell . if I picked up enough bottles to afford a pack of 22's , I'd take the money , and walk to the other side of town to "Chirps " and get a box . I'd ask him for a box of 22's and he would say , you're Mickeys boy , right ? I'll only sell you shorts that will keep you out of trouble . by the time I got home they would know I had them . the good ole days .
