Open sights?

Seems as though there are a lot (way out of proportion) 1949 Winchester (what evers) floating around. Tom, has a ..30-06, I have a .270 Super Grade and you, Pat have a couple. Is this an omen of some sort?

Charlie I have handled quite a few m70's over the years in various stores around the lower 48. I try to take advantage of work sending me all over and walk into any gun store I see. IMO the 1948-1952 pre 64's were at the pinnacle of quality. Just my opinion though. I have yet to handle a 1949 that wasn't slick as grease on ice.
