I just need a little information :). Last week I got a call from a gentleman who was downsizing & has quit reloading.
I bought a 1,000 primers for 3.00 per hundred :). I also bought a number of boxes of bullets at 7.00 per box most of them full.
I picked up a box unopened of Sierra GK 284cal 175gr. spitzer BT. 100 count also a number of boxes of Sierra 277cal 130gr. Spitzer BTs.
Just wondering if they are a decent hunting bullet or should I attempt to trade or use them on paper?
Thanking everyone in advance.

Blessings,
Dan

The 175gr Sierra GK BTSP is an excellent bullet. In my opinion they are the best performing bullet for hunting in wide open country. Great BC and very effective on impact. I shoot them at 2900fps out of a 7mm rem mag.

I've used 175 grain Sierra GKs in the 7RM for quite a few years. The bullet flies true, hits hard and just plain works, Dan. Sierra is not considered a "premium" bullet, but it is as fine an example of the cup and core bullet as any made. The 130 grain .277 in your 270 will flat drop deer. 'Course, if you don't want them, let me know.

It is untelling how many deer have gone into a freezer from receiving a Sierra 130 gr pushed by 60 grs H4831 from a 270 Win. It don't get much better.

...I cheat & do most of my load development w/ Sierra GameKings. They tend to give me a pretty good baseline for MV's, bullet jump, & accuracy @ a relatively cheap price, switching over to a "premium" bullet usually just requires a few minor "tweeks". They are a fine hunting bullet it their own right, I certainly wouldn't pass on any reasonable shot, just 'cause I had $.30 GameKings instead of a $3.00 "premium" bullet...
