Fall crabbing is something we’ve done since I was a kid. Typically, between deer and elk season is better than mid September but this year we had a few days booked that a few of us could make happen. The weather was great, just a touch of rain on Monday but beautiful on tuesday and Wednesday. 70 degrees and just a hint of wind for most of the day. What was very unusual was being able to sit outside for dinner without being all bundled up.
The crabbing itself sucked. We never came close to a limit of crabs, pulled lots of pots full of undersized or females, very few keepers, but enough for a great dinner.
I forgot my phone/camera so no action shots of throwing crabs back in the bay, but dinner was great! Netarts Oregon, worth checking out if your visiting the Oregon coast.
