Congratulations.... (y) Can you share the story of the hunt? We always enjoy going along..

Wow, Nice Buck!!!! Give us some details about the hunt and what you used to nail that trophy!!

I went home for lunch and after that went to a different area than where I was all morning. Wasn’t there 20 minutes and seen a deer just casually strolling thru the beech and I threw the glass on him and made sure he was legal (need 3 points to a side in this zone), waited till he was in a clear area and sent it. Was 116 yards out. 168gr AccuBond lr in .300win mag. He reared up and slid down about 5 yards and layed in a pile.

When I field dressed him the top of the heart was mush. Complete pass thru of the bullet. I really didn’t feel anything while waiting for the window to engage him. It was all business. When I finally got to him that was when it hit me that I just shot the biggest deer I’ve ever seen. He was a pain to drag, antlers where hanging up on everything and had to lift him into the truck myself. An hour and 6 minutes from the time I pulled the trigger till I sat in the truck to drive away.

Well, OUTSTANDING! What a great buck - and yes - there is a great satisfaction with doing it all, without help.

Cool rifle too, BTW.

Guy

That was a great hunt. Yeah, sounds as if it was some work to get him to the truck. But, then, that will be a great story for many years to come.

I know this experience. It is amazing how focusing on making the shot helps keep the "buck fever" under control.

That is a dandy buck. Congratulations. Dan

Good job. A very nice prize. Judging by the looks of him he was a grand daddy. Been around a while planting his genes hopefully.
