Through no real intent, I find that I have several pairs of hunting rifles:

Single shot Ruger Number One:
375 H&H, 1.5-5x Leupold
7mm Rem Mag, 3.5-10x Leupold

Lever action Marlin:
45/70 Marlin 1895, 2.5x Leupold
30-30 Glenfield, Williams receiver sight

Rem 700 CDL:
30-06, 6x (36mm) Leupold
25-06, 6x (42mm) Leupold

There are some others but these three pairs emerge as my hunting rifles. To be sure the two Remington 700's have done most of the hunting over the past 15 years or so. The Ruger in 375 has accounted for a few bears and has been carried on several other hunts. Years ago a deer fell to a different 45/70 Marlin, but the current lever actions haven't taken any game at all for me.

Still... They fall into worthwhile pairs. I kinda like it. Thoughts?

Nice combinations Guy! I only have one pair but what a pair!

Ruger #1B 6mm Remington 6x42mm Leupold

Ruger #1B. 30-06. 4x Leupold

Pair of Remington 700 in 338 rum both lefties, both have nightforce
Remington 700 mountain rifle both 280 rh. Both have Burris
Pair of Browning a bolts 300 win mag one lh one rh both leupold 8.5x25x50 vx3

I do pairs a bit different, by calibre. Like to have some overlap using different bullets and not have to remember which 260 Rem shoots which load for example, the 6.5x55 and 260 take care of that.

260 Rem and 6.5x55
358 Win and 35 Whelen
Almost did a 270 Win and WSM but will end up with a 7mm RM and 270 WSM instead. Going to have 3 LH Tikka's though in the near future, 260 Rem, 6.5x55 and will add the 270 WSM soon.

I do Pairs by M70’s. I believe I’ve got about 10 pair or so

I’ve tried to love others but they keep accumulating

I do have a pair of 7600’s. 35 Whelen and 280 Remington.

I had a pair of 35 Whelen Classics. One got rechambered to 358 Norma. Both wear Leupold 1.5-5 Vari-X IIIs in Leupold bases & low rings. The Norma kept losing the front sight hood while bench testing, so it sits loose in the shooting box. Other than that it's hard to tell them apart except the wood is a little nicer on the Whelen & the caliber stamping on the barrel has been ground off & changed on the Norma.

Also in the classic style there's a Rem. 700 from 1983 & a limited run Model 70 from 1989 both of which have better than average wood & are in 300 H&H in the safe.

Hard to have just one!

Ha!

It is hard to have just one... Seems like there's always some reason to pick up another rifle, shotgun or handgun. Funny, I try to whittle down the collection, and have been reasonably successful at that, but every now and again a new one just pops up and shouts Buy Me!

This is my problem as well!

Currently the only pair I have is two Savage 99 rifles; one is a .300 and the other a .308. I’m not sure if they technically count as a pair as one is a 24” barrel EG model and the other a 22” barrel E Model.

I did have two Model 70s but alas I had to sell one...

Exactly how I ended up with the Sako AV LH in 338 Win Mag this spring!
Wasn't looking for one, and with the 9.3, didn't really need to get another 338 Win Mag...but when this rifle came up for sale, I just couldn't say No!
Those AV's are such a smooth action, and I have had 22 years of great experiences hunting and shooting my other one! Have approx. 30 harvests with that rifle, from antelope to elk from the prairies to the thick forest, and mtn goat, sheep and caribou in the mountains. And I have fond memories of hunts for moose, elk, grizzly and black bear, and bison with my previous 338 WM..

Reading these posts I see many fantastic examples you folks own. I only have the one pair and if not mistaken, me thinks I have just a wee bit of PAIR envy!!

Really like the idea of the 375 H&H in Ruger #1.

Got many multiples here but like you with no intention I ended up with some pairs.

Marlin Lever Action
25-20 Simmons 3-9
444 Marlin Leupold 6X

Ruger Hawkeye All Weather
243 Winchester Hawke 3-12
280 Remington Hawke 4.5-14
Recently started reading about Hawke optics and was able to find some used ones at decent prices to try out. Jury is still out on those but seem to be well built and easy for my old eyes to get a clear sight picture. They are a bit heavy.

Savage 11
6.5 Creedmoor Nikon 3-9
7mm-08 Nikon 3-9
Bought the 6.5 Creedmoor as my Grandsons purchased the same rifles and I wanted to work up some loads for them. For cheap box store rifle/scope combos they seem to shoot plenty well for hunting rifles. Took an antelope with it. Found the 7mm-08 on sale and couldn’t resist.
