Does anyone know the pressure listing on a 25/06 load with 115 gr nosler bal tips and reloader 22 at 51.5 grains? Thanks

The only way to tell is to have a pressure measuring device of some type, strain gage for example, attached to your rifle and fire them. The results will only be good for that rifle, with that load. Change the lot of any component and the pressure will change, the pressure found with the original load will be null. I`d guess you would be very close to SAAMI max with that load though.

Thanks, but I know some loading manuals will give the cup listing on a load, I think some have said that 53 grains is max load listed for this bullet and powder, I just thought someone may have had that listing from an older nosler manual?

The old nosler #4 list 53g RL-22 as MAX with 115g bullets. Accuracy load at 51.5g. When the #5 manaul came out, they took RL-22 out of the data. Dont know why, its one of the better powders for load density and velocity with bullet weights over 100g, especially the 115-120g bullets.

Rem 25/06 I remember you stating you got around 3,100 fps with your load of 51.5 of rl-22 did you crono that or is that the manual listed speed? 24" barrel? Thanks.

My load, 51.5g RL-22 was cronoed right at 3100fps. Shot excellent. Last 3 shot group was .4" at 100 yards. Should be on the mild side, or at least middle of the road. You shouldn't have any problems what so ever. My barrel length is 24" as well, so was noslers test data. The manuals speed is pretty spot on for this particular load out of my rifle. IT could vary 100fps one way or the other in your rifle though.

Thanks guys for the help! I'll be getting some rl-22 and go at it with 50,51 and 51.5 gr out of my remington rifle with 115 gr nosler bal tips.

e-mail me all the stats. I will run quickload for you.

This is a chart for varing loads. Please approach max loads very carefully as depending on temp, or powder lot things may change quickly.

Thanks guys! I would love to get quickload but not in the budget!

So if I read that right it is showing fps at 2902? Yet rem man showing 3100fps? I will try it and crono the speed from my rem. The last number 96.6 is that % of case capacity? This wouldn't be a compressed load after bullet seating would it?

One other question are you guys using mag primers or standard with this powder? If standard do you think your getting a good burning of the powder or would a guy get a better burn rate with mag primers and what does that do to the pressure rating? Thanks for the help that is a heck of a program you guys have there!

Can't speak specific's just ran it in quickload. The difference might be because of O.A.L.. I believe rem seated his to the lands which will raise pressure and velocity

That would correspond to what I a have found in my 25.06. The
highest velocity I have seen came from retumbo.

So you get more pressure the longer the bullet is seated out? What is the pressure at 3.250 for this worked up load and fps?

Well time will tell what I can achive with this powder and load? I have seen very few that where not at max loads that could reach 3100 fps wioth a 115 grain bullet and alliants reload data is not very good, no listings of nosler bull.ets on their website.

Can anyone from nosler answer why this powder is not in the newer loading manuals? The reason I'm looking for 3,000-3,100 is this corrilates with my scope retical and markings for dead on holds at 200,300,400,500 and 600 yrds. They have it at 3060 fps, so If I can achieve that with the 115 grain bal tip I should be darn close with my reticle markings and no need to buy target style turrets.

I also don't want exsessive pressure either. Thanks.

My best advise is to get hornady's reloading manual volume six. On pages 13 to 27 is gives the best explanation of pressure and headspace i've seen. Not that others aren't good but to me it explains it best the way i understand it. No usually pressure is lower the longer you seat a bullet out but when it starts approaching the lands with a longer overaLL LENGTH pressure will start to rise quickly. Until you're fairly comfortable with all this the best thing to do is stick with a recipe from the manual and not play. Your eyes and other apendages or other peoples are too important to play with, with undereducated guess's. Sorry if i sound rude but I don't want to be responible for some one getting hurt.

No problems yeayow, I'm not dumb. I had a response from Alliant powder company and he recommends I use the loading data from hornady their 117 gr bullet for my nosler 115 gr bullets. It shows a max of 56.1 grains? Starts at 48.5. So I don;t know why nosler is much lower than others on max.

I trust rem 25/06 and will try that load of 51.5 as this as he stated be well within the safe range for sure. I'm just looking for that 3060fps if I can achieve that I'm a happy camper.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I shoot a rem special purpose SS withna 24" barrel, that is if the wind dies so I can get out and shoot the darn thing LOL. I will be breaking it in with winchester supremes 115 bal tips and they rate that at what I want 3060 fps. Just looking to save money on reloading and have some fun.

that's why i said undedreducated and not stupid. just a less experience not the inability to learn or comprehend. i would much rather be undereducated on things than stupid especially since i am undereducated on many things. I'm trying to figure out were togo with my 257 roberts. I'm going to the range tommorrow to see how it shoots 110 ab's with h4350. I'm going slightly over max load because i'm shooting my rebarreled savage 110 so i can load to a longer OAL and its not a redone mauser 93 action which is why most of the loads are listed at a maX OF 45,000 psi.
