This is a spent case from a .325 Wsm. (Factory ammo) how would you rate the primer? Flattened, or OK. And do heavy recoiling rounds like the .325 Wsm naturally flatten primers a little more?
Thanks.

If you're looking for pressure reading primers don't tell a whole lot. Flat primers, cratered primers can be created by high pressure, low pressure, head space or an over sized firing pin hole.

Primer looks fine to me

The primer looks normal to me. Consequently, the 325 WSM is an excellent cartridge for big game. Mine has accounted for moose, elk, mule deer, whitetail and black bear. All drop pretty convincingly.

The rest of the case looks good. We sighted in a friends rifle and he is concerned with the primer, thought something might be off, I said I thought it was fine, but would ask you guys to put his mind to rest.

This is what a flattened primer looks like---to me.

Oh boy - I've seen a few of those over the years. I've also seen some brass flow into the ejector hole. We live and learn.
