I have searched this site but still have a question about the 30 cal 180 grain procted point. Is it less accurate than the standard 30 cal 180 grain Partition? Does the BC affect accuracy as well as trajectory or just what does BC affect? Or is it velocity? Thanks for any help.

Leo,

The BC is the bullets ability to slice through the air. Higher BC's will retain velocity and shoot flatter than a lower BC bullet.
The 180 gr Protected Point PT was desighen for the 300 Win Mag. It allows the bullet to be seated further out of the case because of the flat point. You can still use the standard PT design though.
Accuracy will be determined by your load and your rifle, not by the bullets BC.
Hope this helps.

JD338 Thanks.

So all things being equall (gun, load etc) it should be as accurate but possibly have a different POI?

Leo,

Only way to find out is to shoot the load. Every barrel is different. Harmonics of the barrel may have an effect on the accuracy, POI,
etc.
