A pair of PRS Switch barrel rifles.

SAC built 260 Hawk Hill 1:8” & a 308 Win. 1:9”Krieger for Tactical Class shooting 185 Juggernauts in a 27” bbl. The HH is 27” too.

GAP 6GT shoots various Berger 105 hybrids , 108 BT’, and the 109 LRHT extremely well & another 308 Win. in a SBR 1:9.5 shooting 169 SMK’s.

The SAC Build is another 10 year old that’s been rebarreled more than a few times as a 260 Remington throated long for the 142 SMK. The very first barrel was fast, 2,880, 2nd one was shorter, 24”, so the speed wasn’t the same. The 3rd one as shown is right at 2,795 with VV N160 which I’ve never had to use in a 260 before to get it to shoot to my standards.

It’s not that it can’t be done with a 1/2 moa rifle, I used it for the first few times that way and making hits below a 1,000 yards during field shooting matches wasn’t a problem, unless I had to shoot further. At 1,200 yards I could see the load was an issue and started over with a new one the past Fall with the VV N160 and the same 142 MatchKing’s I’ve used for decades.

I don’t shoot as much in PRS as I used too. I got into RTC and shooting with the military guys and avoiding the gaming aspect of PRS.

A friend came by to shoot some .22LR at my home. Before we got started I tested the VV N160 260 load from last Fall and shot this at 250 prone. My neck was toast by the fifth shot I could barely keep my focus on what am I doing!! Maybe I need to spend more time prone and dry fire to stretch my neck and back muscles out more.

Here it is at 100 yards before shooting the five rounds above checking my zero. Which I did not change, I did however lower my elevation that I dialed by 2/10 mil, and yet had I not done that my POI would have been higher.

Thanks for all the likes!! Much appreciated for an old dude like myself.
The group measured 1.44” @ 250 yards, which equates to a 5/8” moa group…., Not to shabby for the Dogs I run with! 😁
