Would someone be so kind to run a couple powder and bullet combos for me on 375 Rem Ultra Mag? Finding data is difficult at best and it seems to have much variation.

Haven't had my rifle out for a number ofvyearscandvwantvto start playing with it again.

Here's where I m going based on components already in hand :

375 RUM
Fed 215M
3.575 OAL s
65,000 psi max. ( not that I ll load that hot but just to know an estimate of the top end. )

2 bullets I have are 270 gr Hornady spire point. #3710
300 gr Sierra GL

2 powders to try with both bullets
R22
IMR4831

So 4 total QL s please??
Thx for any help cause as previously mentioned not a lot of data out there and lots of variation in the different sources.

QL tends to be low on velocity for all of the RUM cases so I would take those numbers with a grain of salt.

Thanks much Dr Mike, appreciate it.

Nathan, thx for note on QL. To this point I ve only shot R22 and have been a couple grs under what the QL forecast is showing for 62-63K of pressure. My velocities have been 100-150 fps less than the above QL s... maybe just a slow lot of powder.

Will chronograph loads while working up charges but 2900 fps with 270 s and 2700-2750 with 300 s
appears to be attainable from what I m seeing. In your experience Nathan did you get those velocities without excessive pressures?

Thx

I’m loading H414 in my 375 RUM. Using both 260 AccuBond and 270 TSX.
I’m getting 3005fps with the 260 and 2950 with the 270 TSX 92.0 gr.

That s some serious energy !! ( and recoil!)

I ve seen a couple comments that 4350 ( or something like H414) is the burn rate for best velocity. Probably depends on bullet weight some. Guessing the 250-270 s would like that rate. 300 s might lean to slightly slower stuff.

With the lighter bullets I think H4350 is a better powder for a 375RUM. I tried all of the slower powders and all I got was more recoil due to the higher charge weights. R-26 might give some good velocities and it would be something I'd try if I still had my 375RUM.
