I posted this a few days ago on the QL thread but have not heard back so appologies for also posting here.
I am loading the 140 ELD. 140 RDF and 147 ELD at both 2.890 and 2.915 OCL in my 6.5 Creedmoor. Rifle is a Tikka T3xCTR with very long throat. I would like some QL guidance to determine upper velocity threshold for RL-16.
If you all dont have time to calculate each bullet at both OCL, even one would be very helpful.
So far, I have found the two 140's are 75-108 fps slower at 2.890 OCL and the 147 is +12 fps faster.
6.5 Creedmoor.
140 Hornady ELD-M, 140 Nosler RDF, 147 Hornady ELD-M.
RL-16
2.890 OCL and 2.915 OCL all bullets. Hornady brass.
Bullet lengths are: 140 ELD, 1.374. 140 RDF, 1.420, 147 ELD-M, 1.440.
The Tikka T3x CTR appears to have a much longer than normal free bore (.199 standard) and jump to jam rifling is 2.950 for 140 ELD, 2,991 (140 RDF), and 3.009 (147 ELD).
Your help is much appreciated!
