Picking up a 7mm Rem. Mag. on Sunday and my question is do i need to crimp when seating the bullets since this is an autoloader? Thanks in advance to any responses.

It's funny how most people either crimp all loads or none. I crimp all my loads with the LEE Factory Crimp Die. Some loads it really helps accuracy, some it doesn't. But it has never hurt me. It also seems to give me less velocity spread from shot to shot.

J.R.K.83226,

You won't need to crimp for your BAR. If you wish to crimp, there is no harm in it. Trust you enjoy the rifle. A new rifle is always fun, and they have a way of becoming a familiar friend as we use them.

I reload for my dad's Browning BAR in 7mm mag, and I do not crimp the bullet. He has never had a problem shooting my reloads. Actually they shoot much better than factory ammo in his gun.
