Quickload for LT-32

How have you guys been doing? Haven't been on much. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to run a Quickload calculation for LT-32 in a 22” barreled 45-70. 4198’s have been mythical lately and this sits smack dab between RL7 and IMR4198 on the burn chart. It’s a small extruded powder like the 4198’s and from what I’ve been able to gather it’s made at the IMR plant in Canada. I’m going to try it in a 45-70, well, because I want to see if it’s close to the 4198’s. I have plenty of both but am curious. Picked up a few lbs and I’m going to see how it behaves.

Marlin 1895 with 22” barrel
45-70, 300gr or 350gr Hornady interlock
Not looking for anything too crazy. I run both 4198’s at 2050 fps with the 300 grain bullets. Thanks in advance.

I can't say anything about LT32 but I can say that a 300 gr at 2050 fps is a powerhouse load.
Looking forward to hearing about your load development. I'm running H322 in my 1895G 45-70 at 2100 fps and sub MOA accuracy out to 250 yards.

It sure will knock deer flat. I shot a running doe at 5 yards and it literally stopped her in mid air. Lol
I’m 5 grains below Hodgdons lever starting load. Their 60 grain H4198 max load would be a beast. I can’t see how it wouldn’t be over pressure but they say it’s safe for the 1895. I tried their 55 grain starting load and even that load wasn’t fun to shoot.

I‘m hoping the LT-32 will do well. It’s the right burn rate to be a viable alternative to the RL7 to 4198 range. If not I’m sure it will be good for something.

Unfortunately, LT-32 is not in my data set. My QL was secured in February of this year, so the propellant likely has not been tested and added at this point.

There is an Accurate LT-32 in GRT. If you can use that data I can copy it.

It doesn't want to transfer the specific load data but just pick rifle, scroll to 45/70 government lever actions, then choose powder and if you do not choose weight it will show all choices.

I forgot I had GRT on my laptop. It was dead on for my 450 Bushmaster. I’ll get my case volume and run those numbers. Thank you.

I’m going to just have to load it to see how it performs. This powder seems unique to me, to say the least. Maybe interesting is a better word.
The burn chart has it one below IMR4198. Load data has charge weights like H322 in 45-70. It’s a fine grain extruded powder made in the Canada IMR factory by General Dynamics and duplicates the old surplus T-32 bench rest powder according to Shooting Times. Finer than either 4198. In the 223 Rem their test loads were nearly duplicating current H4198 data, and did duplicate the older surplus T-32. Pretty accurately I might add.
I’ll do a ladder with chrono, but I suspect it behaves as a slower powder at lower pressure straight wall loadings. Regardless, I don’t foresee a problem getting my 2050-2100 fps 300 grain hunting loads with it in my 1895. It’s a got a 22” barrel and seems to shoot just about everything pretty well. Now that I said that it‘ll be like trying to get consistency with a slingshot. Lol.
