I was wandering if anyone could get me some quickload data for a 300 win mag with 180gr. accubonds. Currently using rl22 but considering 4831 and maybe mag pro. Thanks CJ

I'd likely pass on the MagPro in favour of RL22 or IMR4831. This data is calculated with Winchester brass. Note that differing case capacities generates different data. Work up from a safe minimum and watch for pressure signs.

Cartridge : .300 Win. Mag.(W)
Bullet : .308, 180, Nosler AccuBond 54825
Useable Case Capaci: 81.634 grain H2O = 5.300 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.340 inch = 84.84 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Powder : Accurate MAGPRO

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 2.0% of nominal charge.
CAUTION: Figures exceed maximum and minimum recommended loads !

I doubt you would have to go much further than RL22 in order to hit paydirt! That and 180-200's are pretty awesome for speed and accuracy. Scotty

I haven't yet had the accuracy I was hoping for. May try some Scirrocos. Accubonds shoot great in my other rifles I load them in ,but can't get this rifle to shoot much less than an inch. Thanks again for the quickload Dr Mike. I'm currently torn between 75.5 gr, 76.0, and 76.5. All 3 charges are right around the same size group. Debated on trying 77. Probably just start playing with seating depth. Too bad its 90 degrees plus. Almost too hot for accurate load data.

Sciroccos are good bullets (being Kansas made). There have been times they saved the day for me when nothing else would work. One inch is not bad for a hunting round. What sort of velocities are you getting with the three charges you mentioned. I would guess that velocities are not significantly different as that is a fairly small differential in charge weight. To be certain, playing with seating depth can make some dramatic differences in accuracy. I recently played with a cartridge that 0.005 inches tightened the group from ~1 inch to 0.4 inches. The effect was dramatic and reproducible. I chose not to recommend the load to the individual who owned the rifle, however, as it was such a fine difference that even a small error in setting up his dies would dramatically effect his groups.

Where in Kansas are you located. I grew up in southeast Kansas. I haven't been back in many years, however.

I Lived in Lawrence for a little over 10 years, but just moved back to North Central Kansas where my wife and I grew up. Tons of family farmland to hunt everyday living here versus a few weeks a year living 3 hours away. As far as velocities, I assume a tad over 3000, but I do not have a chrony. I'm currently seating my bullets to SAAMI specs of 3.340. I will load some a tad longer and see what happens before I start over with another bullet. Thanks again. CJ

Check for seating depth by following the procedure outlined on page 43 of Nosler Guide No. Six. It will give you a good sense of how far off the lands you are loading. I know Lawrence reasonably well. I did my undergraduate studies in Emporia. The Flint Hills have always held an attraction for me since living there.
