I'm going to load some 140 Accubonds with W760, WLRM. T3, 22 7/16" barrel.

What does Quickload say?

Thanks,

P

I think this forum has the most QL estimates than any other forum I've seen. May find some decent accuracy around barrel times associated with the 2636 fps and 2756 fps velocities.

Code:
Cartridge : 7 mm-08 Rem.
Bullet : .284, 140, Nosler AccuBond 59992
Useable Case Capaci: 46.790 grain H2O = 3.038 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.800 inch = 71.12 mm
Barrel Length : 22.5 inch = 571.5 mm
Powder : Winchester 760

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 1.0% of nominal charge.

Wyo7200,
Thank you very much for the info. I'm trying to replicate my Big Game load velocity of 2850 ft/sec. Looks like 46-46.5 should do it.

No problem. However, it can be -/+ 2-3gr depending on your cases water capacity and actual seating depth. It's a game changer in Quickloads estimates.

Pharmseller, any RL17 out your way. Works real well in the 7x57 Mauser with 140's and 150's. Bet it would work nice in the 7-08 as well.

...RL-17 is very dangerous, @ temps below 60* it won't go "boom", @ temps over 70* it goes "BOOM" w/ like a gazillion PSI. If you have any RL-17, I've got a backhoe & a couple million ac. of wilderness just out the backdoor, send it to me & I'll see it's disposed of properly...     (y)

When you fill up Genes area with 17 I'll take what's left over.

Such generosity! My, your kind offers bring a tear to my eye.

I chrono'ed some R17 22-250 loads when it was 9F (everything 'cept the chrono was in the car overnight) and chronographed when we had a heat wave and the temps reached 65F. There was 1 fps loss for each degree of difference between the two temps.

I'm wondering, what weighting factor would you use when you run 7-08 mm? I searched around the interwebz a little and came up with the cartridge being very efficient so I left it as .5. Wondering if .45 or .4 would be the better choice? Either way, 56.4 gr is still too much.

I had 2 5-lb jugs of RL-17 left. Based on your kind concern I just emptied the jugs into the garden.

Thanks for keeping me safe.

...yer wife is gonna be really surprized this summer when the cat goes outside to "use" the garden, & goes "BOOM!!!"...

If any of you fellows are afeared for your lives of RL17...I'll happily put it into permanent deep cold storage in permafrost to keep it out of circulation. My selfless contribution to society.

Remember...it's for the children.
