Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Ramshot magnum powder and how has it worked for you? Is it temperature sensitive, ect. Thank you

it's done well for me in the .338 win and the .257 weatherby,
If you look at my thread about John barnsness and his .257 roberts loads you will get the Idea it's a prety versital powder.
Don't know about tempiture sensitivity,,,tj3006

I have used Magnum in a variety of rifles, and it has performed well for me. I don't use it as much as other powders primarily because of reliable availability in northern Canada.

I did use it in my 300 Rum once. Never got close to advertised velocities in that rifle....

I have tried it in .280 Remington. With 139-grain Hornadys (the rifle I was shooting then always was problematic in the accuracy department so I cannot speak to that aspect of the results) , you just can't get enough of it into the case to get much beyond 2800 fps. I also tried it with 154-grain Hornadys and couldn't get much beyond 2750 fps. I think it might work in '06-based cartridges of smaller diameter, though.

My conclusion was that Magnum is just a bit too slow for the .280 Remington. A lot of guys think the 4350s and Reloder 19 are the way to go in .280, but I have found that for bullets in the 139-grain to 160-grain range, H1000 and Reloder 22 can work very well. I'm using H1000 with 150-grain bullets and getting great results with relatively low pressures.

So this powder wouldn't be the best in a 7mm wsm. I am also trying reloader22, IMR 7828, IMR 4350.

Corbin, it might work fine. Whether it would be the "best" or not is something you'll have to figure out. I think the cartridge case you're talking about has enough capacity to make it worth a try, so just because it's a 7mm doesn't mean the powder won't work in it. It will hold considerably more powder than any '06-based cartridge. You can look at Ramshot's loading data on-line and you can even save their loading guide on your computer. In fact, I just checked and Magnum will drive a 150-grain Nosler CT to 3,163 fps using a charge of 76.4 grains, pressure supposedly at 62,160 psi. According to the Hodgdon data I just consulted, none of the IMR or Hodgdon offerings will do that.
