Loaded up some Tac for the 308 and 150 gn bullets. I used Large rifle primers but see that some prefer mag primers.

Any experience to share?

I shot some TAC in a 308 just yesterday and all were with Fed 210M, no problems with ignition. Didn't have the chronograph set-up to check speeds due to rain here.Rick.

I can see that you boys need to get out more and try some other powders.

Been shooting the 308 Win a long time....over 25 years.

I have excellent results with IMR 4995 @ 43.6 with 165 Sierra BTHP using Fed 210 Match primers in WW cases.

I have also used Varget @ 45.8 with the same bullet and brass but used CCI Br-2 primers......with good sucess.

Finally got to shoot the TAC powder over the chronograph. Been having a problem with occassional fliers and switched brass from Win to Lapua, had a runout issue with the win brass. Blamed the fliers on that. Chronograph,Oehler 35P, told me another story. I had 10 cases loaded with the same amount of TAC, each load was weighed on a RCBS 10/10, seating depth measured with a Stoney, case runout checked before loading, bullet runout checked on a NECO after loading, cases had been weight sorted and prepped. I really needed to find the source of fliers, several other known good shooters had fired the rifle with the same groups. Bottom line--up to 90fps variations with that particular load in that particular rifle. I also had some loads with RL 15, no problem with that load, one digit standard deviations and no fliers with the same lot of cases. I did let the barrel cool, so as to eliminate that as a problem. Ten rounds with TAC and nine with RL-15 shot over a four hour period.
I will try TAC in other applications, just not in this 308.Rick.

John Barsness uses Tac but with Fed Mag primers. I tried it last Saturday and had good results accuracy wise.
