I shot three rifles today at my home range: (1) Brand new first time to shoot Tikka T3 Forest .260 Rem. (2) Tikka T3 s/s fluted/camo .308 Win. and (3) Browning X Bolt Stainless Hunter .308 Win.
The .260 Rem shot well after about 15 rounds with cleaning after every 3 shot group. Careful to not overheat the barrel, I shot the following groups with a lightly fouled barrel.

The Tikka .308 Win. was shooting well today too.

The X Bolt Browning shot great as well.

I really like the way these rifles group especially for sporter weight weapons.

Some fine shooting there. Those are all excellent groups. It may have been hot, but you were hotter today. (y)

Man the way that is shooting I"ll bet you could cram some baby powder in the case and it would shoot. Great job at the bench and sandbags.

If you were wiggling today you were wiggling just right.
Impressive to say the least.

that's a great day at the range. I'd be happy if just one gun was shooting like that, let alone all three. Well done.

Thanks guys. Tikkas make a guys' shooting appear better than it really is. LOL

Really good shooting.
That slick Tikka bolt in .308 works pretty well in the thickets also.

Good shooting and nice pig.
It's nice to see a proper bolt on a rifle. Just proves you're in your right mind. :)

Great photos. Too bad that the bolt on that rifle is on the wrong side.

I agree. Both of my Tikkas shoot under 1/2" and make load development almost a non-event. Or if you try different powders or bullets, you end up with several loads all of which shoot under MOA. But there is nothing quite like the first time I shot my Tikka 308 with reloads using Nosler factory seconds bullets and brass and shot under 1/2". Well, except when you try that load again in different weather conditions and it still shoots under 1/2". That was a new experience for me for sure. Enjoy.

I was impressed with the X-bolt also. I wasn't sure just how accurate they were until now after seeing those groups. Seeing as they make LH versions I've been interested in them for awhile.

Yes, X Bolt is a great rifle. It's probably had 80-100 rounds through it now and just keeps shooting tighter groups. I've got the trigger as light as it goes ( 3#) but it feels much heavier than my Tikkas (2#).
