I dipped into my last bottle of RL26 to see how it performed in the 24" barrelled Remington 700. This rifle has displayed sub-MOA accuracy with the 95 gr. TTSX and 130 gr. NBT bullets.
The load tried today used some 150 LRAB bullets I traded for seated at 3.492" OAL which has a .020" jump into the rifling. I started with 59.5 gr. of H4831 that punched an ugly 2+ MOA group at a measured velocity of 2879 fps. Next up was a load of 61.0 gr. of RL-26, the accuracy improved to 1.2MOA, better, but well below that of other loads. The velocity.... drum roll.... was 3083 fps. Wow! I'm going to try some different loading lengths to see if I can improve on the accuracy. Needless to say, the velocity is impressive and there are zero pressure signs.
