Today my grandson loaded some 308 ammo for him to practice with. We loaded brass we prepped a couple of weeks ago.
He's very attentive and picks up the process quickly, asking questions and pointing out things that show he is grasping what I tell him.
Today's session had me loading the powder and him seating the bullets after I got them started in the case.
His little sister got to seat a couple of bullets and the first thing Gus had her do after was wash her hands, remembering what I told him last time.
Today we were seating flat base bullets so they weren't starting as easily as boat tails would.
Gus and his little brother are popping milk jugs at 150 yards.
Gus hit one at three hundred a few days before.
Hoping he pops a deer this year.

Gus, this is what it is all about :) teaching our kids & grandchildren the sport of shooting & hunting.
The time you spend with your grandson is quality bonding & will set the foundation for many generations in your family. Great Job!!

Blessings,
Dan

Very cool! I love when I hear about more and more of our kids, grandkids, neighbors kids, etc getting into shooting and hunting. I think if we spend a little more time with the kids outdoors, we'll spend less time worrying about what sorta decisions they will make later in life.

AMEN Scotty, you hit the nail right on the head. Investing in our kids when they are young is really valuable & will make the future much brighter for all of us!

Blessings,
Dan

Alderman,

Great post. It is always a source of great pleasure to read of some young person learning to appreciate the art and science of hand loading, and the application that results in taking game with something you built yourself.

Investing time with young, or new, showers is never a waste of time. Be it an octogenarian or a child.
