Remington 11-87 Durability

The 11-87 in the bottom of the Photo I have is over 30 years old and has in excess of 50,000 rounds and could be as high as 75,000 rounds. With it I have shot my best league score of 248x250 and the gun did not cause me to miss the two.
How many Parts have broken 30 plus years Zero yes.
I do clean it every time I shoot it from one box to a few hundred at a range session it’s just the Marine in Me I keep it clean and lubed correctly.
I do change recoil spring when it measures less than 14 1/2 inches and o ring when ever it looks old.
So the next time some one tells you Remington are a old design yes but it works.
So if you are looking for a reliable Auto Remington Autos just plain work if you do your part.

Nice looking shotguns. I had a 11-87 Super Mag 3 1/2" 12 ga for a few years but ended up selling it. It wouldn't cycle 3" or 2 3/4" shells. I cleaned it replaced the spring and several O rings and still couldn't get it to cycle the small stuff. I never had a problem with 3 1/2" goose or turkey loads though.

I have two of the 11-87 Premier models. One has exceptional wood like yours, and I like to use for sporting clays as well as pheasant.

The other I use for turkey and deer, swapping the barrels depending on the season.

I've replaced O-rings as well, but nothing else.
