Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on here for almost 2 years. Job has been pretty rough and moving back to wyoming. Anyways I thought I would go ahead and splurge on a new rifle. It is the remington 700 long range in the 300 win mag. It is topped with a nightforce shv 4-14x56 illuminated Moar reticle. I am pushing the 208 amax out of her right not. Just got done breaking in the barrel two days ago in fact. All I can say is WOW! the first load with the amax I tried shot right at .652 inches at 100 yards, 5 shot group. Today I figured I would try and see how well it would do at a little longer range, so I set up a target at 772 yards and fired three shot at it. The 3 shot group came right in at 5.852 inches center to center. For only having 40 rounD's down the tube it is an awesome rifle so far.

Welcome back.

Cool rifle. Glad your back. Those big 208's seem pretty awesome.

Thanks guys! I can't wait until my order of bullets come in then I can start shooting longer ranges with it.

The load is 208 a max loaded with 77.6 grains h1000 cci 250 primer in a winchester case. Oal of bullet is 3.635 velocity is 2925 fps. When I sent the bullets through the crony my deviation was 2 fps within 5 shots. First bullet was 2918 which was the lowest and the fastest was 2920. The shots kept bouncing between those speeds

There is a lot to like about that rig. There is someone with one of those in 30-06 on here as well which would be neat to own.

That's some great shooting and a good looking rifle. I have a friend who just picked up that same rifle in 25.06 and according to him it also shoots very well. He hasn't stretched out the little .257 bullet yet but he says that at 100yds it's printing some pretty impressive groups.

That is a very functional rifle in a great calibre. I am looking forward to you joining in on our posts!

Blessings,
Dan

G'Day Fella's,

Corbin9191, that's one sad shooting rifle you have there!
And some bloody good shooting by yourself as well!!!

Doh!

Those are interesting rifles. When they were first announced, the 7RUM was listed but was quickly removed from the list of chamberings. I was seriously bummed!
